One spare adult and the state is Overstaffed straight away.

That is intended. The state shows the exact situation with no tolerance. Roster planning only warns about overstaffing when at least two adults are over the need for more than an hour.

Can a group have its own ratio?

No. The actual ratio is computed for the whole unit. The group filter in the browser only narrows the list, and the unit’s device shows only how many are present in each group. The staffing need in roster planning can be viewed by group.

Can the ratios be changed?

No. They are the same for every organisation. You can change how one child counts with an own multiplier, for example because of support needs. See How the ratio is calculated.

A worker is on a break. Do they count?

Yes. Knuut does not know about breaks, so a worker counts toward the ratio until they check out.

A worker moved from the kitchen to a group during the day.

In ratio is chosen at check-in. The worker checks out and in again, choosing a group and In ratio.

Why is a worker not counted in the ratio?

They checked in without a group or turned In ratio off. If they should count, they check out and in again. Also set a group for them under Employees, so the choice is ready next time.

A child is here but does not show in the ratio.

The child has not been checked in. The ratio is computed only from check-ins, not from declared care times.

Someone forgot to check out yesterday.

Today’s ratio does not count yesterday’s check-in. In the staffing ratio report, yesterday’s slots are counted to the end of the day and marked with an asterisk as an estimate.

An old report now shows different figures.

If a child’s own multiplier has been changed, the report computes past days with the new one too. If needed, save the CSV or PDF file right after running the report.

A worker from another unit shows in our ratio.

They checked in on your unit’s device. A person always counts in the unit where they checked in.

Do guardians see the ratio?

No. The ratio is visible to Organisation admins, Unit admins and those using the unit’s device.
