Care time bookings in Knuut

This guide explains how to set up care time bookings (läsnäoloilmoitukset) and how to use them. Guardians tell you in the Knuut app when their child is in care and when the child is away. The unit sees the bookings in advance and can plan its staff around them.

What do care time bookings do?

  • Every child has a default schedule: the arrival and departure times of a normal week from Monday to Friday. Knuut uses it every week unless a day has a different booking.
  • A guardian can change the times of one day or a whole week. The change is saved as an exception on top of the default schedule.
  • A guardian reports an absence with a reason: sick leave, holiday or another reason. An absence can be reported on the same morning, and for a longer period in one go.
  • The unit sets a booking deadline in weeks. Inside it a guardian can no longer change times, only report an absence. This keeps staff planning stable.
  • The Care time bookings view in the web app shows every child in the unit week by week, the children’s multipliers and the staff needed each day. You can print it as a PDF.
  • The unit device shows the day’s booked care times and reported absences on the Check-ins tab.

Care time bookings are a plan. What actually happened during the day is still recorded on the unit device as before.

Who does what?

Role Tasks
Organisation admin Sees the bookings of every unit and can do everything a Unit admin does, in any unit.
Unit admin Sets the unit’s booking deadline and opening hours, checks the children’s default schedules, corrects bookings on the child’s page and prints the weekly lists.
Worker Sees the day’s booked care times and reported absences on the unit device. Cannot change bookings.
Guardian Sets the child’s default schedule, changes days and reports absences in the Knuut app.

  • 1Filters: unit, group, period length and whether times are shown. PDF opens the print.
  • 2Day cell: the care time the guardian booked and the child’s multiplier. A letter means an absence.
  • 3Summary: the sum of the multipliers and the staff needed for each day.
