What a placement changes

On the placed days Knuut treats the child as a child of the host unit. On other days everything is as before.

Care time bookings

On the placed days bookings follow the host unit’s opening hours and notice window. Each day follows the rules of the unit the child is in that day, so a week can be partly locked and partly open. On the child’s Service times tab the placed days carry the host unit’s name. The default schedule is checked against the home unit’s opening hours, since it repeats every week. If it falls outside the host unit’s opening hours on placed days, Knuut still saves it and shows a warning when the placement or the default schedule is saved. Fix those days with an exception. The guardian’s app

A notice at the top of the Attendance tab says Your child is placed in, the unit and the days. The day window shows Unit and the host unit’s name, and the week window says which days are in another unit. Absences are reported as usual. The guardian does not see the placement’s notes. The Care time bookings view and the print

In the host unit’s table the child appears only on the placed days, in the placement’s group, with Placed from and the home unit’s name under the name. In the home unit’s table the same days are empty, with Placed:, the host unit and the end date under the name. On the print a placed child’s name is followed by the home unit in brackets. The unit device

On the host unit’s device the child appears on the placed days in the placement’s group, and the row says Placed from and the home unit’s name. On the home unit’s device the child does not appear on those days, unless they have already been checked in there that day. Check-ins and check-outs work as usual, and a record is saved for the unit whose device made it. See The unit device.

Staffing ratio and roster planning

On the staffing page a placed child belongs to the host unit on the placed days even before any record. Next to the name, the host unit’s list reads Placed from and the home unit’s name, and if the child still shows in the home unit’s list, it reads Placed:, the host unit and the end date. Once checked in, the child counts in the unit whose device made the check-in. The roster planning staffing need counts a placed child in the host unit’s need on the placed days, not the home unit’s. Announcements and conversations

Depends on the communication chosen for the placement. See Communication during the placement.

What does not change

• Home unit: the child’s own unit stays the same, and it cannot be changed during the placement.
• Invoicing: the child is invoiced by the home unit for the placement period too. See Invoicing.
• Home page counts: the numbers of children on the home page are still counted for the home unit.
• The guardian’s own details: the guardian uses the app as before and does not need to do anything because of the placement.
