Guardian's app
This is how a guardian uses care time bookings in the Knuut app. You can show this section to families.
Bookings are made on the Attendance tab. If the family has more than one child, the child is picked in the top left corner. Each child’s times are booked separately.
The first time: default schedule
Section titled “The first time: default schedule”- Open the
Attendancetab and pressAdd. - Pick the days from Monday to Friday and an arrival and departure time for each. Times can only be picked within the daycare’s opening hours.
- Check
Selected x h. The figure turns red if the week goes over the contract’s hours. - Press
Continue.
The default schedule applies every week unless a day has a different booking. It can be changed later from the menu in the top right corner, Edit default schedule. Days that are already booked and days inside the booking deadline stay as they are. The app tells you before saving which days will not change.
Calendar and weeks
Section titled “Calendar and weeks”The tab has a month calendar, and under it the coming weeks one year ahead. A day’s colour tells its status:
| Colour | Means |
|---|---|
| Green | Time from the default schedule. |
| Amber | A time changed for that day. |
| Blue | Absent, Holiday. |
| Red | Absent, Sick leave or Other reason. |
No booking means the day has no time. A padlock next to a week means part of the week is inside the booking deadline.
Changing one day
Section titled “Changing one day”- Tap the day in the calendar or in the list.
- Choose
Presenceand setArrivalandDeparture, or chooseAbsenceand a reason:Sick leave,Other reasonorHoliday. - Add notes if needed, at most 200 characters.
- Press
Save. The app confirms withDay updated.
Reset to default removes the day’s change, the day goes back to the default schedule, and the app says Exception removed. A day can be at most 10 hours, and the times are within opening hours.
Locked days
Section titled “Locked days”The daycare decides how many weeks ahead care times must be booked. Days closer than that are locked. On a locked day you can only report an absence. You cannot change the times or add a new booking. You can change a reported absence’s reason and notes, but you cannot remove the absence or reset the day to default.
Changing a whole week
Section titled “Changing a whole week”- Press
Editnext to the week heading. - Change the days’ times, or add a booking for a day with
Add booking. - Check
Planned x h of y h. If the week goes over the contract, it cannot be saved. - Press
Save week. The app confirms withWeek saved.
Locked days and absences are not changed in the week view. Tapping them opens the one-day view.
Week presets
Section titled “Week presets”If the child’s weeks vary, for example with shift work, a week’s times can be saved as a week preset. In the week view, Save as week preset saves the times under a name, for example “Morning shift”. Use a week preset fills in the times, and then you press Save week.
A week preset only fills days that already have a booking. Days with an absence or no booking are left as they are. You can have at most 20 week presets, and only you can see them.
Absence period
Section titled “Absence period”- Open the menu in the top right corner and choose
Mark absence period. - Choose the start date and the end date.
- Choose the reason and add notes if needed.
- Press
Mark absence period. The app tells you how many days were marked absent.
A period can be at most 90 days. If you pick a longer one, the app says so straight away and the period cannot be saved. Weekends are skipped. On the days of the period, earlier bookings are replaced by the absence.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Either guardian can change the child’s times. The change saved last is the one that applies.
- The daycare’s managers see your notes on the child’s page in the web app. The unit device does not show notes.
- The app does not send reminders to book care times.
The child in another unit
Section titled “The child in another unit”If the daycare has placed the child in another unit for a set period, for example a holiday unit, a blue notice at the top of the tab says which unit and for which days. Bookings for those days follow the host unit’s opening hours and notice window, so a week can be partly locked and partly open. If the default schedule falls outside the host unit’s opening hours on placed days, the app says so after the default schedule is saved, and those days’ times are changed in the week screen. The day screen shows Unit and the host unit’s name, and the week screen says which days are in the other unit. Absences are reported exactly as before. See Temporary placements.
